Hollywood’s walk of fame is the most popular and most visited landmark in the USA. The stars are a sign of honor to the accomplishments of actors, musicians, directors, producers, etc. who made the right contribution.

Anyone can award the stars, even a fan or the star himself or herself. For this, you have to be a famous star in any of the categories, like acting, music, director, etc. The person must submit their consent on a letter of agreement.
There is a sponsorship fee to nominate your name on the Hollywood walk of fame. All the applications are discussed and considered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce every year and they decide whose name should be the next.
If anyone feels that their application did not succeed or they failed to make it to Hollywood walk of fame in the particular year, they can re-apply anytime again.
There are five main categories of stars from Classic Film Camera represents Motion Pictures, Phonograph Record for Music or audio recording, Radio Microphone representing Broadcast, Comedy and tragedy Masks for Theater performance, and Television Receiver for broadcast Television,
Apart from this, many distinguished film personalities made it to the Hollywood walk of fame. However, many famous film personalities are missing from the walk of fame such as George Clooney, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie, etc.
Apart from the film industry, the chamber also makes certain exceptions to include the name of people who have made major contributions in other fields and have made it to the television industry. For example, Apollo 11 Astronauts, Muhammad Ali for his contribution towards the game of Boxing.

Having your name in the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a big deal. So, you have to be a famous star or should contribute to the entertainment industry. Every year the chamber receives hundreds of nominations and 20 to 25 stars make it to the Hollywood walk of fame.
But some of the youngest hot and famous stars are not eligible, as one has to be in the industry for five years. The Hollywood walk of fame is the most visited site in the City of Los Angeles and it is much more than a mere walk for fans.
